Join Us in Springfield!
Make your voices heard in Springfield! Positive Youth Development Advocacy Day will take place on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 in Springfield.
The Federation for Community Schools is partnering with ACT Now, Children's Home + Aid, the United Way and others to host an advocacy day that focuses on the need for a range of opportunities and supports for children and youth in order for them to be successful in school and beyond, including funding for the Healthy Community Incentive Fund and Teen REACH.
$50 travel stipends will be available for this day, and lunch will be provided for all participants. If you are not able to join us in person, you can still participate by signing on to do virtual advocacy.
To register for the in person or virtual advocacy day, click here.
In order to receive a travel stipend you must:
- Attempt to make an appointment with your legislators
- Fill out this form and submit it
- Submit some sort of receipt showing travel expenses, such as gas, a train ticket, or bus invoice
- Fill out a feedback form describing your meeting (this will be given out on the day of the advocacy day)
If you have any questions, please contact Melissa Mitchell at email@example.com or ACT Now network lead Susan Stanton at firstname.lastname@example.org.
